Report: Well, to start off I must say the winds have definitely been here more than not. They’ve been 25-35 and that is mostly sustained. So this month we have kept the fishing to walking flats with the wind at our backs and doing what I like to call flying the kite. The wind really let's you get some casts out there but accuracy is more of a challenge. Long casts are easy and you can put some distance between you and the fish as it increases your odds of catching a lot. The dorado are starting to show and for the brave at heart you can go tame the waves beyond the blue for a shot at some great fish. So this month we are really just settling into the New Year and waiting for those few days each month when the weather is so perfect you thought you won the lottery, the tails are every where, the scenery cinematic and the company...well world class. Next month I will touch on flat's ethics and what to do when other fishers crowd you. Happy Fishing and Paddle On. |
